| Was wondering if there was a way that one could edit content of the family tree (namely the descriptive narratives) subsequent to uploading to GenoPro's servers. For example, is there a way that a registered user could FTP thier data to the server rather than having the report generator automatically gnereate the data? Further, is there a way a user could create their own home page (an Index page if you will) that will point to various lines in their family trees? Thank you.

| Thank you. Do you anticipate limiting the aggregate size of each individual's site on your servers, or do you anticipate continueing your policy of allowing it as long as it is family-tree related?

Do you anticipate limiting the aggregate size of each individual's site on your servers, or do you anticipate continueing your policy of allowing it as long as it is family-tree related? This is a good question. We built the website http://familytrees.genopro.com to gain experience with new web technologies of transferring data between GenoPro and a server. We will need this feature for our multi-user interface. We have not given much thought about what is allowed and what is disallowed. We are more technology-oriented than policy-oriented. Since you are asking this question, I would answer we would permit anything that is personal (not commercial) and having some family/genealogy content. For instance, having a picture album, a few funny stuff as well as your resume is OK, but we don't want you to use this service for hard disk backups, or a download area of music for your family & friends. We will monitor the size of each publication for our own statistics. Any file larger than 1 MB will raise a flag. It is perfectly correct to have large file of several megabytes, such as a large Gedcom or XML file. As far as the aggregate size, we don't plan to limit it. Our philosophy is the bigger your website, the more web pages it has and therefore the more visitors your report can bring to us.

| This is currently no total limit for a report and you are welcome to publish them over familytrees.genopro.com. There is however a limit for a single file, no file can be greater than 4096 KB (4 MB) compressed. After a quick check over the server some files have over-passed the 6.4 Meg with the compression. The limit will probably be increased if needed. The limit prevent you to attach a 10 gig DVD to your family tree for example. The final policy about maximum size and file type is not yet finalized but I wouldn't worry about it for now. Adding MP3 or Video is not recommended. Even if you can't edit your files already uploaded you can change the home page of your skin and republish it; only the files changed with be updated.
