I have several in my family tree. Through remarriage one parent is biological and the other is adopted. Is there a way to imput this so that it shows on the report when generated?

| Note: The following documentation refer to GenoPro beta. Double click on the link between the child and the marriage/union. Select the "Adopted Child" from the pedigree link type.

You are not the only one with adopted children in the family, but you are right. It shows in the genomap, but is not reflected in the narrative report. There it says `he/she/they had nn children`, without mentioning biological and/or adopted children. I think this needs to be adressed in the report template.

That shows how to show a child as adopted by both parents, but it doesn't have an adoption by just one of the two parents and biological by the other. That would be a helpful addition. Think of the Brady Bunch The boys are biological to the father and adopted by the mother and vice versa for the girls. The present format would either make them all biological to both or adopted by both.

| It either needs a new type of relationship, or you'll have to accept the fact: - child has two (as far as I know ) biological parents - any other person that is in function of trustee or decides to adopt a child is adoptive parent, and only link to this person should be adopted child... ...another thing comes to an issue here... Adopted child should be possible to connect to a single parent without family "item"... Another thing you might do is to create a new social entity -a single household/family and place them in as members... Newest beta supports it... It's only a graphical representation, but won't be listed in report...

Castoral (3/15/2006) That shows how to show a child as adopted by both parents, but it doesn't have an adoption by just one of the two parents and biological by the other. The present format would either make them all biological to both or adopted by both.It is possible to do what you require graphically with a bit of manipulation. You can 'stretch' the adoption link from the marriage line up to one of the parents. See the screenshot below - I have left the grab handles showing to show how the line is constructed (part of it is hidden by the 'Link as Parent' line):
However, as V.L.o says, the report will not reflect this situation (yet )

| If that is as far as we can go, then I can live with it. It wouldn't deter me from getting GenoPro. However keep in mind that most of the sharing will be done in report form and that most people may not recognize the links you describe as adoption. For many people a genealogy is also helpful when trying to trace biological factors; such as genetic diseases like Diabetes or certain cancers. So it might be worth considering implementing that in a later version if it is at all possible. One might have the name but not the inherent problems.
