I have been checking data in my files and find that the Fuzzy Match at the standard 70% setting does not find common spelling variations; Dicks, Dickes, Dix is one example and my own problem of Welsh Bevan and the various English corruptions Beavan,Beaven, Beavin.
Most family historians will have used programs such as Ancestry and would expect to find this sort of variant easily. A short look at Soundex suggests it would be better in this case. I have heard it has shortcomings in other ways, but would it be possible to add it as an alternative search option?

Thanks a lot. I was not aware soundex was that simple! I think this will be a great addition to complement the wildcard search.
