| Would like to see in the right click menu of the SVG Graphic (besides copy, view, etc) a print function for the SVG Graphic only(full view), which should then include the images included via the text box.

Just came back from a trip to Germany, where I presented the SVG grafiks with pictures included to some of my relatives. Received positive comments about the possibilities with the display, although I had prepared the SVG grafiks via a image editor, since the SVG grafik is only printable to a single page, the printer can handle.
Images I can print as a banner or poster.
Would like to be able to print the SVG grafik directly from a menue as banner or poster.
Any comments?

| The SVG specification and existing SVG viewers provide little support for printing. There is a draft SVG Print specification but I don't think it is incorporated into any viewers at present. The SVG Roadmap suggests SVG Print will become a W3C recommendation in June 2006. I recommend users who wish to print the SVG graphic genograms with images to use the open source product Inkscape, an SVG compatible image editor. It can be downloaded here http://www.inkscape.org/ Once opened the SVG file should be scaled and dragged onto the 'canvas'. Use the 'Document Preferences' option under the File Menu to set page to Landscape mode etc. The SVG can be scaled to any size required. Inkscape does not appear to like the relative paths used for images referenced in the SVG file. It shows these as 'broken image'. However it is fairly simple to edit the SVG file beforehand to replace the relative paths with absolute ones. Inkscape does not directly support 'poster' printing allowing it to be printed on several A4 pages, but some printer drivers have this facility. MY Epson R220 printer has such a feature. allowing me to enlarge the print and tile it over several pages. I have not as yet investigated using the free PDF print drivers suggested here by appleshaw with Inkscape but this may be another option.

| Thanks for this recommendation. It works nice this way. Instead of scaling the SVG, I set the page size and center the SVG then. From there I export as PNG and print as poster, spread over several A4 pages, with an another image editor, which has possibilities to print posters and banners. Tried to print to a pdf driver, but did not work yet. Will investigate further.
