When you enter a date of death the age is displayed. If you remove the date it is replaced by a date that is calculated from date of birth and the age in the age-field. Remove the age and the date is updated. Remove the date......... Ad infinitum........
The only way to break the loop is the cancel button.

You can always type an invalid date to disable the automatic calculation, then delete the age of death. The best solution is to right click and pick the menu item Clear Date which will clear both the date and the aga/duration.
