Before uploading the whole report again I generated the whole report locally using your English Narative Report.  It unfortunately gave me the same error, the names index as follows (same as before) It does not happen when compiling the report on one single genomap.

Did some checking on my own tree with regard to sorting, since on the LHS the list is sorted in the upper half proper and also sorted properly in the lower half.

The reason for this may be the way you have written names. Or only first names or only last names have been used. Or the names were written in small and/or capital letters, which can happen when importing names from other gedcom files. Another reason could be the use of brackets ().

Just a thought.

I had come to the same conclusion as maru-san. I believe I have a fix for the problem. Could you try the attached Init.htm template in a customised skin and see if it cures your problem.

Thanks, this does overcome the problem. The code must have changed since 17 a,b,c where this problem did not occur

I have had a further look at my database and I have twenty last names that are surrounded by brackets that match the upper level sorting in the above example.  This is clearly contributing to this problem. Thank You
