From time to time, while working, the following screen appears in front of you, in the middle, from no-where, without any specific request !

C:\Program Files\Genopro\Help\index.html

This happens if you press the F1 key to invoke the help.  Beta 17e and beyond will launch the web browser to open the ULR http://www.genopro.com/help/

I don't use F1 at any time !

My opinion is that the program invokes it AUTOMATICALLY at one stage or another, and this thing should be avoided !

Can you tell me the first time you encountered this behavior?

I think since BETA16 (or 15).

I've just found a sequence of functions which causes this behaviour:

1) Enter a person

2) Enter the "occupation"

3) Goto the "work place" field

4) type a string to be your place name in this case

5) Goto the right sided gray arrow (which permits to search the entire list of places)

6) Choose one of the following options: "New Place" or "Edit Place"

7) Press on this choice, and you'll receive - for almost sure - the HELP screen.

OBS) Take into consideration that my list of place is of about some hundreds. MAYBE a too long search time causes it ...

It doesn't happen from the very beginning, but only a while after starting working with GenoPro.

Take into consideration that my list of place is of about some hundreds. MAYBE a too long search time causes it ...

The lenght of the list should not matter.  I have been playing with a sample family tree containing 3,600 places and was unable to reproduce it.

It doesn't happen from the very beginning, but only a while after starting working with GenoPro.

Time should not matter either.  GenoPro re-builds the list each time you open a dialog.

It does still happen.

(Is the program - for any reason - activating the F1 automatically ?)

No.  Unless the F1 key is pressed, or the help button clicked, there is "no way" the online help is launched.

Question: When you pick a place, do you use the mouse or the keyboard?  Is there a particular field (place of birth, place of baptism, place of death) that you get this behavior more often?
