| Is it possible to add pictures of GIF format? I considered GIF since I could make significally smaller files but when I try to add pictures, the only options are .bmp, .jpeg, .jpg, and .jpe. Sorry if this was already covered somewhere else, but I searched and didn't find anything that answered my question.

| The problem with using GIF for photos (and the reason for the small files) is that GIF only supports 256 colors. Many photos do not translate to this format very well. -Steve

Patch61 (9/28/2006) The problem with using GIF for photos (and the reason for the small files) is that GIF only supports 256 colors. Many photos do not translate to this format very well. This is indeed correct. If you have a .GIF, you can always convert in .PNG. The PNG format will beat the .GIF format with almost half of the storage space.
