| My Genomap appears flip-flopped when I open the .gno file. The objects run up, instead of down. This is in 19c and 19d. This only happens in the .gno file and not the xml. Should I be only opening and editing the xml file?

| I'm getting this behaviour in GenoPro...not by generating a report. I tried saving the file as a an xml and reopened, but I get the same behaviour.

Can you send me a sample file? You are welcome to use the Send File command from the File menu.

| I sent the .gno file that I first had the problem with. Actually, the file has not been sent. It crashed GenoPro, and now I'm attempting to force quit GenoPro....with no luck. Now the file has been sent. I believe it might have been a problem with my virus protection.

| I have never seen something like this. Do you think this problem is new to Beta 19c? The latest Beta is 19d but nothing has been changed regarding the coordinates. There is one possibility the coordinates have been flipped while aborting a report. I looked at the code and fixed a case where the global flag to flip the y-coordinates could be set after aborting a report. If you do not have a backup, I can try fix your file. You will have to send me the whole file and I will do my best to set the coordinates properly. If you have generated a report, you should have a valid .xml file as part of the report.

I opened the backup and it is fine, so no worries about my backup...phew! However, it's best that I tell you exactly how it occurred. I had GenoPro Beta 2.b19c open with my tree up. I downloaded 2.b19d. Closed 2.b19c (the tree looked fine) and opened my tree into 2.b19d. Then I saw the flip-flop. I thought it was a 19d bug. So I reopened my tree in 19c and saw it there as well. Strange? Thanks for taking the time to take a look. Should I be opening the .gno file or the .xml file when I work on the tree???

| There was no danger of data loss. Having a the whole tree flipped upside down is not a problem... with some work, I can flip it back. I was just asking so I don't have to work unnecessary. Importing from XML to .gno, or switching from 19c to 19d (or whatever) whould not flip the coordinates. This is strange indeed, since this code has been there for a long time. If you can reproduce the bug, please let me know. I will take whatever time is needed to fix this problem.

| Not only were the genomaps flipped, but many of the lines were missing. If you would like, I could try re-sending you the entire file if you want to have a look at it. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. I don't think it's worth your time to try to fix since I have my backup to work with. I definitely will let you know if I reproduce the bug in the future. I appreciate you taking a look at it though. Let me know if you would like me to send the whole .gno file. My question about the .gno and .xml file is whether in general if I should be opening the .gno file to work on my tree, or should I be opening the .xml file? I'm not sure which format I should be working with within GenoPro. Again, I appreciate all the help. Merci
