| I think the 'Birth' and 'Death' dialogues should conform with the way the other dialogues are handled where they have a history of events where you you can select new, pick, edit etc.

cezary (10/18/2006) I think the 'Birth' and 'Death' dialogues should conform with the way the other dialogues are handled where they have a history of events where you you can select new, pick, edit etc.I don't understand. You can be born or dye only once... So why you need more than one field?

| It is possible to have separate, sometimes conflicting, records of birth. So separate records would be useful here

| Yes, you have a 1 to 1 relationship with birth, but with death and religious records it's a 1 to many relationships..... Birth(Time, date, place) Death(Time, date, place) Funeral Service(Place of Worship or not) Funeral Service(Cemetry/Crematorium,time,place) Religious Record.. Baptismal/Christening Confirmation 1st Communion Taking Religious vows Change of Faith

| Yes. But only one day of birth and one day of death... I agree that there is a problem with Alt dates, in which you got more than one date, but at the end only one of them is the actual date. They are not on the same level. As for the other dates you mentioned, there are fields in GenoPro for them.

If you are talking about a recent individual then hopefully you know the date of birth. With historical data there can be a conflict. In the UK registers normally give the date of christening, which is normally called baptism. Sometimes they give a date of birth. Also there are often two sets of records, some in the parish and the annual returns called Bishops Transcripts. Obvious source of conflicting evidence, particularly when christening/baptism can be several years after birth.
So other sources of birth data may be relevant eg marriage registers or census. These may be equally valid.
If you look at PAF there is a facility there to record alternative sets of data - it's called 'Other Events'

| How about adding a space for multiple burials, it happened in the past, and GenoPro only allows one.

I thought about an 'event driven' architecture, however I decided to have dedicated fields/dialogs for birth, death and so on. One thing will be added is a dialog to document events, from a immigration to accidents.
