When I go to put an ind on born in say 970, I type 970 in the date of birth box, and it tranforms into 0970. And this, to me, looks odd. Also, I cannot put a birth year, 40, as that it would have to be 0040 and the same thing with 4 to 0004. This also happens for education, occupation, contact, death and marriage dates as well. I think this should be changed, but that's just me.

From the best of my knowledge the year is usually display in 4 digits to avoid confusion with month or day.

As for year before the year 1000, they are left padded with 0 to be 4 digits too, it's looks weird I agree but the value is correct and the age calculation is performed properly.

I think there should be an option somewhere to display the year format as we would like (0004 to be seen as 4) and so on.
