If you select an individual and then open File->Properties, an individual tab can be seen within the Property panel. It only happens with Individuals as whenever any other object type is selected, no additional tab appears. Only the Prop Title change to "Selection Prop" for any selected objects. It seems strange because 2 display tabs are then present within the panel:
Comparing both tabs, I've got the following comments/suggestions, all pertaining to the Automatic/Default tab: 1) the text orientation is not shown. Should it be? 2) the "automatic" color is not present within the color picker. Should it be? 3) the message "... doesn't alter the appearance of the gene tree" should rather say, for Users clarity purposes, "doesn't alter the display of the existing individuals". the item 3) above brings me the following suggestions: 4) a tick box saying "Update the existing Individuals?" (for Names & colors) should perhaps be added. also 5) another tick box saying "Reset all values to defaut" (Names and Colors) should also perhaps be added. and finally, unless I missed something, 6) the Ind tab should not be there. 7) the panel Prop Title should not say "Selection Properties" but "{whateverFileName} Properties". Thank you JC

| You are raising a good point. The Automatic / Default tab should be present only in the document properties; not when selecting a group of objects. 1) the text orientation is not shown. Should it be? There is no automatic / default text orientation. By default the text is horizontal and the user has to change it on a case-by-case basis. If the user wants to change the text direction of the entire family tree, he can do the following: Ctrl+A (Select All), Enter (bring the properties dialog), and click on the checkbox Vertical text. 2) the "automatic" color is not present within the color picker. Should it be? The Automatic tab cannot offer the "automatic" color because that default color must exist somewhere. 3) the message "... doesn't alter the appearance of the gene tree" should rather say, for Users clarity purposes, "doesn't alter the display of the existing individuals". By default GenoPro makes a copy of the colors. On the other hand, if an individual uses the "automatic" color, then changing that "automatic" color will change its color. Notice there is a difference between choosing the color red, versus choosing the automatic color which may be red. Although both colors are the same, if the automatic color is selected, than changing the automatic color will change the display. On the other hand if the individual color was red, and the automatic color was also red, and changing the automatic color from red to green won't change the individual color. GenoPro does not perform a search and replace whan changing colors. 4) a tick box saying "Update the existing Individuals?" (for Names & colors) should perhaps be added. This is why GenoPro the "Selection Properties" which updates the objects selected. 5) another tick box saying "Reset all values to defaut" (Names and Colors) should also perhaps be added. The Automatic color is for that purpose. 7) the panel Prop Title should not say "Selection Properties" but "{whateverFileName} Properties". If you remove the selection and select File -> Properties, you will see "Document Properties" instead of "Selection Properties".
