Please help.
I have less than a hundred people in my tree so far, however, moving the tree around manually has proved to be time consuming and a pain. I tried the auto arrange feature, even using just one section of the tree, and the lines STILL overlap. I can't make heads or tails of the tree. What am I doing wrong? Isn't there a way to automatically build the tree so that at least it is all spread out enough that I can read it?
Signed,
Frustrated

The AutoArrange is limited. The AutoArrange works great on simple trees, however when each parenter has multiple partners, then there is overlapping. The best way is to do the layout manually using the mouse. Doing the layout manually is actually not difficult - as you add new individuals to your family tree, you simply move them using the mouse to an area where there is no overlapping.

| Dear GenoPro support team, You must realize that the improved Auto Arrange, which was promised to be on version 2.1, is the most important thing on your to do list! I understand it is not an easy task but... I personally know many potential customers that refused to purchase or use GenoPro because of the total mess that is displayed on my tree (3000+ individuals). Manual arrange is not an option on a large tree so stop suggesting it!!! It is a pity that the GenoPro team fails to understand that this is the biggest problem of the product. GenoPro is a great visualization tool for family trees and this is what makes it stand high above the rest of the competitors, but it turned to be a mess visualization tool! Other bugs are "minor", the Auto Arrange is a marketing issue. When will it be ready or have you canceled the plans for it?

Dear GenoPro support team, the total mess that is displayed on my tree (3000+ individuals). I understand your frustration as I had been sent a ged file with 11000 names and it was a nightmare at first but as there are so many other features of this software that are superb I feel they make up for it. I found that by selecting the head of a part of the tree and then selecting the spouse and descendant tree you can then move them to another genomap which makes it easier to sort out this part. If you select direct descendants the spouses are not included which can complicate things. My ged was so complicated that I had to select only parents and children then find the copy of the child, select spouse and children and move them and so on.

Sorry Raymond, but I cannot agree that this is the biggest problem of the product. This may be the most important issue for you but I don't think it would be for too many other users. I know a significant number of people using GenoPro and the AutoArrange is not even a topic of discussion. I just finished helping a friend with 2000+ individuals manually arrange his tree and it really wasn't that traumatic.
We all have our priorities; as an example, mine currently is the translation into other languages so my relatives in other countries can get better value from the product. I think this is far more important. I am happy for the GenoPro team not to spend time on something which will never be perfect anyway for everyone and for which there is an alternative solution already.

| Raymond, My tree have more than 2000 people and 200 families with several cross relations...no way to have a single genogram without overlaping in a 2 dimension representation....the 3rd dimension needed is provided by links to new genomaps as is suggested previously. A new tip: I use a different genomap for spouses family (parents, siblings, other spouses ...) and for the second generation after the main surname is missed. I strongly support the need for other languages reporting as a standard feature of the product, as a main wish.... Kind regards, Carlos
