Hi,

Is there a way to create a gedcom file by selecting a linked part or a portion of a GenoPro tree?

I want to sent a gedcom file to someone else and I want the file to be from particular person down to a level of living people, who names I want to appear as 'living surname'.

Is there a quick way to do this or can someone tell me the best way to do it currently.

Regards,

Phil.

If I wanted this I would select the individual at the top of the tree and then select descendants - either right click and use the drop down menu or use the icon on the tool bar.

Having selected the group, copy and move to a new GenoMap. You will be asked if that is what you want to do, as normally there are better ways to move individuals, ie use Move.

Having created the list that you want, use the report Writer skin to generate the gedcom on the current Genomap.

Finally I would exit, but not save that version, or use the undo features to get back to normal
