IU found out that you can't import a gedcom-file on this moment so i tried the older version (1.x) and then i tried to copy it en paste it in the new beta version.
I didn't work.
How long do you think it will take to be able to import the file or can you make a temp solution so you can copy paste it from the 1.x version?

Kiss Irma

The temp solution is there already, you just have to follow the proper procedure.
Import the gedcom data into the old version, save with a new name, close this file.
Open the Beta version, locate the new file you just created and open this file and save it. After this you can copy the data and paste into one of your other files, created by the Beta version.
Hope this will help you.

Yes i Know but then i'll get a lot of extra junk on my laptop.
Because i'm a bit forgetfull
So by being able to copy/paste directly from the old version it wil save some kb. And i don't have to save it in another programm

I found a gedcom on the web which looked interesting but GenoPro could not import it, reporting:-
Reading file 'E:\DAP\jwells.ged'...
Converting ANSEL to ANSI/MBCS
Importing 'Gedcom' document using Code Page 1252 known as 'Western European/US (Windows)'
Validating data...
Error at line 5690: Invalid Gedcom hierarchy for tag ''
I managed to import the file into another program and then export it again. GenoPro then reported
Converting ANSEL to ANSI/MBCS
Importing 'Gedcom' document using Code Page 1252 known as 'Western European/US (Windows)'
Validating data...
Error at line 1942: Invalid data '13 1946' for 'birth.DATE'
Error at line 2025: Invalid data 'U' for 'gender'
Error at line 2486: Unable to find object of class 'Family' matching ID 'F152'
Error at line 3227: Invalid data 'U' for 'gender'
Error at line 3355: Invalid data 'U' for 'gender'
Error at line 3787: Invalid data 'U' for 'gender'

(The data was not of interest after all that!)

The original data came from

I have found the problem. The end of the file has non-empty lines. I will work on a fix for this. In the meantime, use Notepad and delete the lines after the TRLR tag. I can confirm GenoPro will be capable to import your Gedcom file.

I've tried to import GEDCOM file (packed at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/2868/komplet.zip) and during validating of data I get the same error message: Invalid Gedcom hierarchy for tag 'London,England'. Deleting of blank lines at the end of file don't solve my problem. It seems like gedcom problem, but is there any way how could I fix it to be readable in GenoPro? I don't understand this format well.

I think that the problem is in your GEDCOM.
open your file with an editor. Check that each line has a number as first char on the line.
remove those lines without number completly.

When your done with all the lines try to import the file again.
If the same error occurs find the row you missed and re-import.

I hope this will work.

Thank you very much, there were really several lines without number at the beginning of line. After removing these lines it works fine.

Happy to help. From what I saw there were more than 20 such rows.
Which software you used to build this GEDCOM?
