First off, i would like to say that i am seriously impressed with the beta. i am also going to talk to my boss about its possible application with work (welfare).
At the risk of letting out family black sheep, while researching a branch of my tree, i found that on 2 occassions, cousins had married and produced children (not directly above me thank God).
Because of this, i have 2 people who show up twice on the tree on different branches.
I found it was impossible to link these people on the tree in any way that would indicate that they were the same person. Could some sort of indicator be available to special note. eg; colour coding thier text on the display (the red people are the same person and the 2 blue people are the same person) or something similar.
I am thinking of something that would be visually indicative rather than having to look for data behind the name to be able to locate these people.
And again, thanx for the beta. it looks great. cant wait to see the final version.

Here is one possible solution:
Create a hyperlinked person of the one which shows up twice and move this one to another genomap where you may have placed the branch. Later you can click this person in order to jump to the that branch. I have used app. 20 genomaps, all linked by hyperlinks. The result is no overlapping individuals or crossing lines.
Hope this will help

The problem is not that the peson shows up on different branches, it is that they show up twice on the same branch. On 2 occasions, cousins married each other without much distance between. The main probem is that the person shows up twice, once on either side of the tree. I am trying to find a visual indicator that show it to be the same person.
An ideal indicator would be different coloured writing. I dont want to put any kind of a line between them as it will just confuse the matter more and i prefer not to have any more charts than i have to.
Another option might be somethinglike a relationship link under the heading of 'other' where i can use a different coloured line. This is not possible with the older version. It may be possible with V2.

Still the function "hyperlink" is the one you have to use even though the person is in the same genomap. However befor you create the hyperlinked person go the display options in order to select the colors/borders/etc. you prefer for this person. Then the cousins (same person) will use the same diplay and can easily be identified in the tree. By doing so you have created some kind of "alias".
Another option may be to arrange the tree in such a way, that there is no need for that "2nd" cousin.

The hyperlink is the solution for this. You need beta 11h of later to get the full advantage of the hyperlinks.
