Is it possible :?:
Or in more details...
When I select someone and want to get his i.e. direct ancestors, is it possible to get them selected altough they are in different part of a sheet or even on other sheet but within the file...

I think this is something for Dan to look at. I have a file with my family on one Genomap and my wife's on another - she provides the link between the maps.
If I select a grandchild; right click and select direct ancestors; copy; create a new document; paste. Result is a document with the same number of GenoMaps but data is only pasted into the one originally open. The other 3 are blank., although the names of the maps are transferred.
Not what was asked for (ie all ancestors) or wanted

I am aware of this "problem". One solution would be to have a "hidden feature" to copy all the objects across all GenoMaps if the uses holds down the Shift key while clicking on a toolbar button such as select ancestors, select descendents, select one generation, etc.

When users make suggestions they can not see the effect of their suggestion on other parts of the program, due to the way the program is designed.
Having said that, I would hope that if it is possible to include data from other GenoMaps in a selection, that this would be the standard option, not a "hidden feature". That is because if users makes a selection they would normally expect the data returned match the selection criteria.
One alternative could be based on the technique on the Find Ctrl-F. Here you are offered the choice of All Genomaps or Current GenoMap. This could also be based on an IF <selection covers > current map> THEN <open second option window>

I admit, I don't know how GenoPro exactly works, but what have slipped through my mind recently...
If each single person would have its single personal ID, (the one that already exists) but that single entry could have more then one place/location within a file on. It might resolve matter in subject of this thread also...
AFAIK now each object/person has its, ID, location, other properties….
Copying within a file could be performed in a way that when a selection is copied, only new location properties should be added to existing objects (under tag Location 2,3, n…)... It would also simplify addition of new data to a person… Internal hyperlinks should only refer to a location of i.e. second, or third copy.
