I have been looking at some data that I have entered recently and realise that the headings do not describe the sequence of events, which were
Death in April Cremation one week later Burial of ashes in churchyard (beside husband, ie different town) in June
So the June data is entered under 'Funeral' and the earlier service as 'Final Disposition / Burial' This is so that the cremation can be recorded under 'Type'. The sequence of events can be deduced from the data but it seems odd that the earlier event is under the heading 'Final Disposition'
Looking at the husband's records could in fact give the wrong impression. There was a church service followed by a cremation the same day. Looking at the data again, without knowing the sequence of events, it might appear that his ashes are at the crematorium, whereas they were buried later back at the church.
Thinking about this - for the first time - we do not like to think about death - it seems that there can be four significant events which can have place and date information. The poblem is that in many cases some of these events overlap. However for the data I have the 4 events are
Death Funeral (Church service) Cremation; records are kept at the crematorium Final disposition. - I know of several cases where there has been a long time - years! - between cremation and final disposition of ashes.
The question is, do others find problems of this type? With older records it is rarely a problem as the information does not exist. As I said, it is possible to record the data, but I have had to go back and add explanatory comments, so that other people who do not know what the sequence of events was, are not mislead

Eventually, each individual will have a list of events. An event can be anything from a wedding to a car accident to a trip in a foreign country. Events will have a start date and optionally an end date. Yes, some events may last many years. The "death" dialog is just a convenient method to enter the "death-related" events.
