It is possible that an ActiveX control cound very easily be made to view (no edit) trees on web pages. I had a go, but ideally i need some source code to get the open file script to work. I'm offering my services to genopro to bulid the ActiveX. Actually this is my offer. And i'm volenteering. If your intrested please contact me by email to: toad@readingarchers.co.uk or msn at nickpoole@yahoo.com.

There is already a discussion about this at Topic5458-58-1.aspx. GenoPro is already an ActiveX control, although not 100% complete. You can view your genealogy tree in a browser (see samples at http://www.genopro.com/skins/preview/)

The report mode isn't really what i was talking about. Its not too easy to read. I was thinking along the lines of a viewer capable of displaying the tree like you do in genopro but whe you have your cursor over the individual (denoted by only a male or female icon) a frame opens with that individuals data in it.

As i said i had a go. i can get the curser-over bit working but the file open and display bit i'm not too sure on. If you can send me a copy of the source (VC++ 6 if possible) i should be able to produce the ActiveX in a matter of weeks (it would be shorter, but i'm a full-time student and i have exams coming up).

Obiously i wont steal your code and produce my own, because that would be way too illegal. As soon as i finish the ActiveX, ill send it to you (with code) and it could be used with genopro. I'm just looking for a way to improve my skills and do something useful. I'm not here to rip you off. The software is great. I just thought this might be an improvement on the html design (especially since it relies on frame supporting browsers).
