After upgrading from beta 14 to 14b there is an abundance of custom tag tabs in the edit picture window. All have the same layout though entering a value in the first tag is not reflected in the following ones. In my case I have only one active custom tag.
I also noticed that when objects share the same picture the custom tag field is sometimes copied to the next object and sometimes retains its old value. I have not yet found the circumstance when it occurs but I have the impression that it is not copied when it is a new entry but after editing it again it will be.

I have noticed this problem too, however I don't have a case to reproduce this scenario.  If you happen to have a file that reproduces this bug, I would be glad to take a look at it and fix the bug.

In the meantime, use Notepad and remove the unwanted custom tags in the .xml file.  You will see a section in the XML file containing the custom tags and you can edit (remove) those unwanted tags.  Then, open the .xml file using GenoPro.

PS:  Make a backup of the xml file before making modifications (just in case you need the original later)

I can send the .gno. It is approx. 3.3 MB, 24,000 individuals, 8,000 internal hyperlinks and over 300 genomaps. Sending the pictures will be a bit more of a problem. There are 8,000 now and they take a lot of space.
Editing the xml is also a slight problem. The xml is over 20 Mb and my xml-editor just can't handle that size.

Please send me the .gno file causing the problem (creating extra custom tags).  I will see what I can do my best to fix the problem.

If you do a "Save As", you may reduce the .gno size by half to 1.7 MB, so it will be easier to send by email attachment.

The xml is over 20 Mb and my xml-editor just can't handle that size.

Those XML editors are usually ver slow.  Try Notepad or a plain-text editor.  If you send me your .gno file, I can do it for you by returning you a new .gno file without the extra tags.

I have used EditPad as a replacement for Notepad for many years. It now comes in an updated version for larger systems but EditPad Lite is still free. It opened an 83,354 KB xml file in a couple of seconds

I have downloaded the .gno attachment.  The .gno file is from Beta14b which has already the extra tags.  If an error occurred, it was when importing from Beta13 to Beta14 which added extra tags.  I need the .gno file from Beta13 causing the problem.  If you don't have it, I can only remove the extra tags but not fix the problem for future updates.

Here is your file.  Let me know after you have downloaded the attachment, I will delete both posts to protect the privacy.

This forum has a little bug: the attachment will be downloaded as an .aspx file.  After the download completes, just rename it to .gno and it will work.

I have been searching but I do not have a beta13 version of the file any more. But I am 100% sure that it happened going from 14 to 14b because I used the new report writer on the file:
"This genealogy report was generated by GenoPro® version 2.b14 on dinsdag 30 augustus 2005 using skin template English Narrative Report version 2005.08.28".
After that I decided to make a custom tag to keep the filename of the raw picture and that was working fine. Yesterday I installed version 14b and then the extra tabs were introduced.
