I have been using GenoProGold for just over 4 years & my current version is 1.91b.  This month the Update function identified that a new version 1.99b was available. My Goldenkey is still valid until Sept 2006.  I have followed the download instructions & saved InstallGenoProGold.exe to my hard drive.  I have then run this executable - everything appears to run as expected, except my Version 1.91b is not upgraded.  The only thing that appears to change (using Explorer) is that the dates of the file Uninstall.cfg and the Help folder(+subfolders) changes to the current date. What am I doing wrong - I have updated the program successfully in the past?

If you look in the properties of the file GenoPro.exe it shows 1.91. If you open the program and go to help - About GenoPro it should show 1.99.

However if you have been using the program for 4 years, then consider using the Beta version of 2 from
http://www.genopro.com/beta/

This will import your existing files and then save them in both the new format and also in a backup version which can be read by the new version of 1.99. The advantages are enormouus and it has been under development for a considerable time and so will not cause you any problems. Your existing GoldenKey will open the new version

I did open the program and look at 'About GenoPro Gold' under Help, but this also showed the version still as 1.91b!!  I will take your advice and try the Beta version of 2 - I had been waiting until the final version was issued. Thank you.
