| I was making a family tree of my pet dog and I wanted the complete date to be displayed in the family tree itself. Yet in the display tab, I didn't see any selection for the display for the complete date of birth (and also death). Is there a way to display the complete date of birth and death and not simply its year?

The control of date format is not for an individual but for the whole tree.
You can display complete date by going to Display on the main Menu bar (at the top of the display) and choosing the format you want. The list is fairly short at present, but does include complete dates of birth & death
