I'm sure there used to be an icon somewhere to download the GedCom file that the report generator creates - but I can't see it anywhere. Can you please point me in the right direction.

Thanks
John

The Narrative Report does not produce a Gedcom file, and never has done. It does place a copy of the GenoPro file in the report folder if you have not checked the 'no .gno file' box under the Privacy Tab of the Generate Report dialogue. This can accessed using the GenoPro logo  after the name on an individual's page.

The Generate Report 'Export to Gedom' produces a Gedcom file in the selected Report folder.

The report generator has three check boxes - No GNO, No XML and No GED. I have the No GNO and No XML boxes checked, so I do not get the icon beside the names, but the No GED box is unchecked and the report generator does create a 'FamilyTree.ged' file in the destination folder (see http://brookes-net.co.uk/Family/Brookes/FamilyTree.ged). I kind of assumed there would be a link somewhere within the report to download this.

It's not a problem, as I can easily enough put in a link elsewhere on the site - (maybe a feature request for version 2.1?) - I just wanted to make sure I'm not going blind.

Regards
John

No John B B, It must be me who is going blind, so hands up I put my proverbial foot in it here. In all the time have been using and working on GenoPro I had not realised that this functionality was there! I blindly took the view that the Narrative skin does not generate a .ged so it can't be there, but in fact GenoPro puts it there behind the scenes so to speak.

I can put a link to it on the home page if the privacy box is not checked. The .ged file generated is the built-in non-standard GenoPro one, so the recipient will really need to use GenoPro to import it properly.
