Create the family with children and click on the family line, click properties to select the appropriate line/symbol (eg Cohabitation)

Then right click on the display and choose New Family. This will place a horizontal line on the screen which you can place under the children. Then go to the parents; Right click; select 'Join as Parent' and click on the family line. You can also label this line eg date of marriage

This is a good question.  At the moment, GenoPro has no built-in mechanism to show the birth of children as the relationship evolves.  For instance, a couple may live together, have a child, get engaged and have another child, and later get married and have more children.  Unless it is vital to display all the steps, I would consider the couple as married and have all the children linked to that family.  The date of birth will clearly show some child born before the marriage.  You may also write a comment describing the family.

Another solution is creating two families, as suggested by Appleshaw.  My preferred display would be as follows:

This should probably be a separate howto, but what is the recommended way to show a marriage and subsequent divorce, with dates etc in the Report?

I tried the same approach of using two family lines and although the second one has the relation as divorce the Report lists it as a second marriage

I tried the same approach of using two family lines and although the second one has the relation as divorce the Report lists it as a second marriage

This is a problem using 2 family lines in the above example unless one 'family' is excluded from the report, but then the child will not be recorded.

To answer your question, as long as the Relation is listed as 'Divorce' or 'Nullity' on the General tab, and the details are completed on the Unions tab, the marriage will be assumed and correctly reported as marriage and divorce (or marriage and annulment).
