I would like to go directly 'Edit Sources' or 'Edit Pictures' etc, but there is no way I can see to do this from the menubar.

Is there a way you can make the menubar or parts of it customizable? That would be kul.

You can achieve this from the Table Layout (Ctrl+T). Click on the Pictures or Sources icon and press Enter to display the properties dialog.

Is there a way you can make the menubar or parts of it customizable?

We have plans to support macros and plugins. We will add room to customize the toolbars and menus.
