Hello,

I'm contacting you, because a professor of a Nursing School here in Portugal (Oporto Nursing School), wich is developing her phD project in the area of family nursing, is improving a family nursing model of assessment and intervention at S. Mamede de Infesta Health Center.

Here, all nurse records are made in an informatic program nominated SAPE/ NPSS - Nurse Practice Support System. This program possibilites the record of informations about individuals and groups, such as familys and communitys.

In the family assessment, using the model descripted (that its based on Calgary Family Assessment and Intervention Model), we need to record the informations adquired on the structural evaluation of familys, using instruments such as genogram, Mitchell's psico-figure, Ecomap, etc...

Genopro it would be an excelent software to use an install inside SAPE/NPSS, but in the test genoPro, we find out that its all in English.

So I'm sending you this topic, in order to ask if its possible to creat a software in portuguese, cause some nurses have dificulties with English, and how can the professor Henriqueta Figueiredo (that its developing the phD) contact you to study a way to negociate a process of integration of genoPro in NPSS - wich is financied by Matosinhos Local Health Unity (www.ulsm.pt) and supported by IGIF.

waiting for your answer,

thank you for your attention,

best regards,

Pedro Melo

We are working on a multi-lingual version of GenoPro.  Once GenoPro has been translated in French (my mother tongue), we will translate GenoPro into other languages, including Portuguese.

Yes, but if you send me the file I translate it now, otherwise I translate it alone....
Thanks, Paolo
It is more quickly and easy to translate with a language file (Italian.lng), than a .xml, so that the last versions are more adaptable.
-----------------------------------
For example:
-----------------------------------
[LANG]
English

[GEN]
FA=&File
EA=&Edit
VA=&View
...etc.....

[FILE]
NEW=&New
OPN=&Open...
SV=&Save
...etc.....

[VIEW]
VTB=&Tool Bar
VSB=&Status Bar
...etc.....

;---------------------- new in 2.1.0.1 ----------------------------------------
[PRI]
JOPN=&Open
JCPN=&Copy Name
...etc.....

[BCL]
BL=Blac&k
MA=&Maroon
GR=Gr&een
...etc.....

The file is not available yet, as we need to write the code to connect the language file with the menus and dialogs.

It is more quickly and easy to translate with a language file (Italian.lng), than a .xml, so that the last versions are more adaptable.

XML is our choice because it supports built-in Unicode and can handle long text spawning multiple lines.  With XML, we can have a hierarchy of tags, including default and fallback values, in addition to adding attributes for extensibility.  Once you will see our XML format, you will understand why XML was a good choice.
