I have used the online back up facility as such but also to store annual versions of the development of the family tree. Between the 2006 and 2007 versions the file size has decreased by a factor of 6 - presumably due to changes in the way the file is created.

I do not like wasting facilities and wondered if it would be a good idea to re-save the 2006 file

GenoPro 2007 uses data compression to reduce the file size.

It is great you think about saving disk space on the GenoPro.com server, however I would not worry about it.  Internally the server uses data compression, so if you backup is not already compressed, the server will compress it.
