I'm new to this. I am trying to make a family tree starting with my husband's and my grandparents -- 8 in all -- and the various uncles, cousins, children, etc. that come from that. Naturally enough, lines become entangled. Is there a way to do this? Should the number of generations be limited? My granddaughter wanted to know how she is related to all these people. I don't think we are such an enormous family, but maybe I am too ambitious.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You could try the auto arrange which will sort things out a bit but it is not the best way.

If you have several branches on the display you could select someone near the root and then then select either ancestor tree, or direct ancestors. (Either right click and open the select menu or use the icon on the Navigation tool bar. This will select a branch of the family which you can then drag to the side, clear of any overlap. If you have a large number of individuals you might want to put a branch of the family onto a different GenoMap
