I just updated to version 2.5.3.9 and now most of my files / genomaps seem to have disappeared - it appears that there are only two files remaining!

The attached shows the message I get when I tried to open them in the drop down menu under "file" - after the first attempt to open them, they disappear from the drop down menu and they don't show up when I search my computer for them.

What happened to these files and why can't I open them after the update?  More importantly, how do I get them back???

Update 5:26 pm - Please disregard the above post, my files have re-appeared suddenly - I closed and re-opened GenoPro and all files / genomaps are now there again.

Thank you

There are two steps in saving your data:
  1. You should keep a copy locally on your own computer via the 'Save' or 'Save as' command in the 'File' menu.
  2. You can backup (sauvegarde) your data on Genopro's servers - the instructions to do this are here.
I hope you can find your lost file.

If a file has been created but not saved, and the computer crashes, is the file lost forever or is there a way to recover it?

When you first create a file it is in the computer memory, until you save it somewhere - disc, memory stick, whatever. So if the computer crashes it will loose everything in its memory.
