Hi,

1) all the names are double in the report.  Why ?  What can I do please ?  (http://familytrees.genopro.com/smollich/)

2) Bithplaces of deleted persons (deleted in the graphic of the family tree of genopro-software) are still in the report.  The names though not any more as it should be.  How to delete the remains of deleted persons ?

Thanks for your help,

Volker

Well not quite all the names have double entries, but those that do have different id numbers, which implies that you actually have duplicate names on your genogram, hence duplicate names on the report.  Please examine your GenoPro file (e.g. via the Table View for individuals) and delete duplicates.

Also you are using a very old version of GenoPro and the Narrative report skin.  I suggest you download GenoPro 2011 and the latest version of the Narrative Report skin.  By installing in a different folder I think you can run both versions of GenoPro and use GenoPro 2011 to generate the latest reports whilst using the free version of GenoPro to maintain your data.

Thanks, Dear,

that helped.  But now next problem:  Tried to update with new skin.  The following happened:

Veröffentliche Bericht nach http://familytrees.genopro.com/smollich/
  Verbindung herstellen zum Server familytrees.genopro.com...
Cloning document Smollich-short...
Opening configuration file Config.xml for skin 'English Narrative Report'...
Loading Dictionary.xml...
[0.00] Processing template 'init.htm'...
Error at line 23, position 1 (init.htm): ActiveX-Komponenten kann kein Objekt erstellen: 'Scripting.FileSystemObject'
    Laufzeitfehler in Microsoft VBScript 800A01AD

What to do please ?

Thanks, Volker

The error suggests to me that Windows Scripting Host is not installed correctly on your PC.  If using XP, download and install Windows Scripting Host 5.7 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8247.

Regarding your second issue with birthplaces of deleted persons appearing in the report, it should only show places that are referenced from some other object.  You can again use the Table Layout, this time for Places and Locations to check the 'References' column for places that you believe should not appear.  Alternatively maybe the GenoPro Menu option, 'Table Layout/Delete/Delete Stray Objects' may be of some help.

Thank you !  That software helped.  No more mistakes while generating a report.  Great !

But now a last little hint please regarding the new generator.  I received following message after having oped the family-graphics first, then trying to generate a report:
Cloning document Smollich-short...
Opening configuration file Config.xml for skin 'Descendants Tree Chart'...
Loading Dictionary.xml...
[0.00] Processing template 'DescendantTree.js'...
Base skin version from Config.xml: 2011.01.01
To disable display of parameter settings, tick the box under 'Options' tab of 'Generate Report' dialog.

The 'Configuration Parameters' dialog will appear in an Internet Explorer window. If it is not visible please check taskbar as it may be minimized.

What did I miss to do ?

In order to generate the Descendants Tree Chart Report, the script  needs to know for which individual or family you wish the report to be produced for.  The script does this by examining which individual or family has been selected on the Genomap.

THerefore, before selecting Tools/Generate Report, you must select on the genomap the individual or family for which you want the report generated.

Hint: the clue is in the error message Wink
