I am running GenoPro 1.71 in a Termianl Server enviroment. When some of my users login with Admin right this error "Failed to update the system registry - Please try using REGEDIT" does not occur. But for most of my users this does pop up apon opening GenoPro because they are not admins.

Is there any way to fix this with out giving all users admin rights?

GenoPro is built using the Microsoft MFC framework and there is a bug in their library when the application starts (no surprise).  About 7 years ago, I fixed this bug, however the version you are using is from January 2001 (10 years ago) which does not have the fix.

One of the solution is to use a more recent version of GenoPro, or give administrator privileges to the user (or the application GenoPro) so the application GenoPro.exe can write the key to the registry (to register its .gno file extension).

To overcome my problem this time,I used the most recent version of GenoPro i.e. version 2.5.My issue has been resolved now..
