Right now, the picture source reference seems a little simplistic, or second-hand, if you prefer.

What about adding a "Picture Source" section between the "Picture Notes" and "Picture References" and replacing the picture footnote?

Sources are the most important information for genealogists.  So I would prefer to upgrade their status from a mere footnote to a full section.  No?

A little late with my reply but have now moved house and awoken from a long xmas nap!

Sources for pictures are I believe presented in the same way as for other items such as individuals,  family and places. Ie. via a page footnote consisting of the source 'title' which is in turn a hyperlink to the details of the source record.

So if you would like a Picture Source section, would you also like a Individual Source section, Family Source section etc.?  If we do place source information 'inline' in this way, how should hierarchical source references be presented?

I was looking at this with the eyes of my "end users", people who only see the end result and know nothing about GenoPro, software coding or HTML.  I guess they would prefer to see something like

While a developer thinks in terms of modules, data base structure, code reuse, etc, the web visitor expects something like a book with a standardised layout and structure.  Let's keep it simple (you may add "stupid" if you really insist).

And yes, simple for the end user sometimes means complex for the developer.

All the very best for 2012.
A good health and lots of money.

Can someone tell me what determines that a source is given a superscript number rather than just listed as a source at the bottom ?

In the beginning the GenoPro Properties dialogue had just one Source field for each section, e.g. Birth, Death, Education etc. , and these were reported via a footnote and a subscript reference to it, but then users wanted the ability to record multiple sources and so it came to pass that a Sources tab was added allowing many Sources for the object, e.g. Individual, as a whole.  These are reported as a list at the bottom of the page.
