I've been meaning to report this bug for quite some time now, and hopefully the new version will fix this.

I have my date format set to YYYY-MM-DD, in all of my genograms. It would be nice to be able to set this globally in the program, but that's another matter.

What is happening is that sometimes (not every time) when I save my file (with any of my genograms), the dates on all individuals that have associated dates will change their date format to DD-MMM-YYYY. All I have to do to restore my preferred date format is perform a "Select All"... and the dates revert when the objects are selected. I have no idea why this is happening, and I would love for it to stop happening in the new version. I am running Windows 7 with full updates (except for the "Get Windows 10" malware that Microsoft keeps trying to force on me) on an Intel i5-3450 with 16GB RAM.

Many thanks!

Re. Windows 10. I have been told (unverified) that MS will soon change update settings so that W10 will become part of the automatic updates. To avoid this I have changed my update settings to 'let me chose whether to install them'

appleshaw,

I've had my updates set to "let me choose" ever since I got this computer. I used to be a computer tech (and then mental burnout happened), so the little things are the first things I look for when setting up a new computer or a new version of Windows (or whatever OS it happens to be).

So, it took five days, but I just had that date-format glitch happen again, and I'm at a complete loss for why it happens. I'm hoping that this is something that will be fixed in the rebuild; sometimes it's the little things that are the most annoying. Smile

I just had this happen again in the current version. I saved my file, and when it assigned the new IDs, it also changed the date format from YYYY-MM-DD to MMM-DD-YYYY. Even more strangely, when I used "Undo Assign Permanent IDs" and "Redo" to confirm what had happened, it did not change the date format on the redo; maybe this will help the developers fix the bug. My system is a Gateway DX4860 Intel Core i5 CPU running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

I'm glad I managed to track down this post; I thought I had already commented on this bug. Anyway, this has happened again. This time, saving had nothing to do with it. I entered a missing marriage date, saved and closed the properties window, and then went back into the family properties to set the ceremony type... and when I closed this window, that's when the dates all changed. Every displayed date in the GenoMap. And when I did "Select All" and "Properties" and clicked "Cancel" the dates all went back to my chosen format. The changes are exactly the same as reported in my original post; I have YYYY-MM-DD set as my default format, and the change is always back to MMM-DD-YYYY, and it is never permanent. But I'm mystified as to why it happens at all.

I'm running GenoPro 2016 on an Intel core i5 CPU with 32GB RAM. The OS is Windows 7 with all current updates that don't involve Windows 10. (Same system as in my last comment on this thread... and, indeed, my original post.)

Hopefully this will be fixed with the GenoProX rebuild. It's not a pressing issue, since the problem seems to fix itself; I'm mostly just curious as to why it happens at all.
