Auto-centering of selection during Undo / Redo

Author Sometimes it would be really nice to be able to turn this off.

While working with large selections (over 20 objects, often over 100) in large genograms (over 1000 individuals), particularly when resolving Problem Spotter issues, I often want to see how a move of the selection affects a specific part of the tree. While I can zoom out to see the whole tree, the selection becomes invisible before I reach this point. Being able to turn off the selection auto-centering would be a very nice feature. I have noticed that it doesn't always auto-center on an Undo or Redo, but (in keeping with Murphy's Law) it always happens when I don't want it to.

Jakk Not quite sure of your problem but I have seen that zooming out can make a selection difficult to see. One thing I sometimes do is to open the Display tag and turn on the 'Deep Background' so that the selection stands out as yellow. Two other options which may help are to use the Home key to centre a selection on screen or to use the Bookmark toolbar to define a central individual who can be found later. Not sure if these suggestions help, and you may have tried them all already.

The Home key has been part of my frustration. Often I am moving large groups with equally large gaps in the middle, so centering the selection will often (as it did just moments ago) leave me with *no* part of the selection visible on screen; hence my issues with the auto-centering during Undo and Redo. Thanks for the tip on the deep background; I hadn't figured out what it was there for.
