I know that this used to work; I used it regularly six months ago when I was entering place name information for my Icelandic family. Now I have gone back to update information for several individuals (spelling of a place name), and I just tried to run a search for a place name (in place of birth/death)... and it doesn't work. I have checked all the checkboxes for fields to search, and I have copied the search term from one of the individual records containing the desired place name... so I know it exists... and my results list is coming up empty. Yes, place of birth and place of death are visible in list view. I am mystified by this. Any ideas?

Edit: When I uncheck the "Other Text Fields" box, it says "No match found"... but when that box is checked, I get an empty results list. The search term is being copied directly from one of the individual records containing it, and even "Fuzzy match" returns an empty results list.

Have you tried to click on the button Places and Locations, and then Ctrl+R to view the results?  GenoPro 2016 displays only one table at the time (individuals, families, pictures, sources, places, and so on).  By the way I have been toying of implementing a new grid for GenoProX capable of displaying multiples tables at once.

That does the trick. Many thanks. As you can probably tell, I don't use the search function all that often for anything other than names. Smile I would love to see GenoProX operate more intuitively in this respect; if a field is visible in the results list, the contents of that field for search results should also be visible; I understand the reasoning for separating the results (to minimize screen content and make it easier to find what is being searched for)... but a simple highlighting of fields containing the search text should accomplish this.

Thinking about this further, a single results list showing all data fields at all times may be unwieldy, even with highlighting of search terms. But if the buttons are used to show and hide certain fields instead of switching between separate tables, that would work far more intuitively... and prevent the "empty list" issue from occurring, because at the very least, the names and ID numbers of the individuals found should always be displayed regardless of which other fields are visible.
