I think there was a thread on this before but I can't find it ...

Is there a way to attach a pic to a person or source, but not include it in the generated report?

I am taking pictures of source documents and attaching them to individuals, but don't want them "publicly" available to anyone gaining access to the tree.

You can prevent a picture being referenced from a report page by adding a custom tag of _Exclude to it, however  dthisoes not prevent the picture from being copied to the destination folder and so it can still be accessed if it's URL is known.

You can prevent this by making such pictures unavailable at the time the report is generated. e.g. keep them all in a particular folder say 'private' and them rename that folder before generating a report, or use GenoPro's Tools/Relink Pictures to change their links to a non-existent folder before generating a report.

Alternatively you could create a password protected folder on familytrees and generate a special report to that folder containing all your 'private' documents by, for example, creating a .gno containing just a social entity with links to all these photos. Then in your main report use the url of pictures in this protected familytrees report instead of your local disc copy.  This way only t hose with the password will be able see them online.

Thanks! Of all the options, the first one sounds the easiest to implement and remember.  Thank you
