I tried to find the information in the Forum but am still confused! I currently have GenoPro 2019, Version 3.0.1.5. I had previously purchased the upgrade from GenoPro2011 to 2016 on 9/4/2017 which included a message:- 6 months of GenoProX Membership to collaborate with your family members.- 6 Premium GenoTokens to give licenses of GenoProX to your family members.I presume the upgrade from 2016 t0 2019 was free.
My question is how to share, within the licensing restrictions, a view copy of my 700+ individual tree with 1 or more family members? If I send them my copy of GenoPro.exe, they could install that. Do they need to use my registration key? At this time, I would ask them to send me updates and I would them send them the updated FamilyTree.gno file to replace what they have. If this is not correct, can you please recommend the correct way to do this process. Is there a free version of GenoPro or other software that could read ALL the information in the .gno file?

The simplest way to avoid any questions about licensing is to ask your contact to obtain their own copy from http://www.genopro.com/InstallGenoPro.exeThis link will download and install GenoPro, although it can be slightly confusing in that it asks for a registration key. Ignore that and you have the program which will act as a viewer of the .gno file. Without a registration key any alterations can not be saved, so your plan of adding them to your file would be the way forward.

Thank you appleshaw!!! I tested the process on a 2nd PC I have. When it asked the Registration question, I just selected "Cancel" and confirmed it with "Yes". Great solution, just what I was looking for. This works better then viewing then the web version. I am also recommending to my family to create the same directory structure that I have (the installation does not create it, I presume, until you save something): C:\Users\<name>\Documents\GenoPro Reports\ Family Tree\ Pictures\ C:\Users\<name>\Documents\GenoPro Reports\Family Tree\FamilyTree.gno so that when I send a Picture folder, all the links work correctly. Thank you especially for repeating what is probably documented somewhere in the forum.

At the moment those tokens cannot be shared. When GenoProX will be released, you will be able to pick which friends or family members you wish to share your registration key. GenoProX maintains a list of contacts where you may chat, talk, share your screen, send files or invite them to join your family project.

I read this and still don't understand how information is shared among family members so that they don't have to re-key data.

In the post you found I was answering a slightly different question: how someone else can look at your GenoPro file. If you send someone your .gno file it can only be used by downloading the GenoPro file. If that person buys a licence then obviously the data can be seen and edited. If they do not have a licence the data are fully visible but can not be saved (including making reports) The earlier post referred to this installation of GenoPro for use as a viewer. The installation seems to insist on entering a valid code but by ignoring that step you create a valid (limited) program.
