I am currently evaluating GenoPro, so I'm a newbie...be kind
I have generated a .GNO from my GEDCOM data and it looks good
I have some problems...
1) Trying to generate a kinship report, but it wants me to select 2
individuals...how is that done ?
I have added a Custom Tag entry Kinship.Tag Name.Display
Looked at help and forum...
One points at an Edit drop down entry which I have not got
Another suggests clicking on a symbol which I can't see
Got to be easy...yeh
2) Although the above report will be useful, ideally I want this
information on the .GNO. Is this possible and how do I do it ?
3) Some surnames are missing despite their presence in the GEDCOM...why ?

1)
- Before you run the report 1st clear any existing collections via menu bar Edit / Clear selections in all GenoMaps
then select you first individual (click on it). Then select the 2nd individual (which can be on a different genomap) by
holding down Ctrl key and clicking on that individual.
Then run the Kinship Calculator Report.
- How do you want to present that info on the GenoMap? You can use Social Relationships to link individuals and give kinship details in the comments.
- I am not clairvoyant and without sight of your data I have no way of knowing.

I did generate the Kinship report but it wasn't what I wanted
What I need is a report showing all people on my GEDCOM file (that's easy) but with an extra column..."How this person is related to John Doe" or any other person I nominate (is that easy ?)

It looks to me that you are selecting the last NAME/GIVN/SURN set rather than the first
I also noticed that two sections of my .GNO overlay each other making a mess of both. Zooming just shows the mess in detail
I think your software is quite good if you contact me outside this forum I'm willing to spend some time resolving these issues

The issue you are seeing with your gedcom import is down to the fact the the builtin GenoPro gedcom parser does not deal with muliple occurences of the same tag. It will take the 1st and then merge in subtags from subsequent occurrences. I raised this with GenoPro eons ago but was never sorted so I ended up writing my own Gedcom import (see http://support.genopro.com/FindPost41224.aspx).
It has not been extensively tested but it does correctly capture much more of the data the the builtin one which has other failings too. It would be difficult to produce the multiple kinship relationships you want. If you know javascript you could start with the Kinship Calculator code and using the GenoPro xml data add the column producing a revised xml file. GenoPro's auto-arrange feature has been the subject of many posts on this forum. It is really only useful as a starting point and most users end up manually arranging their trees. Spiltting your tree over several genomaps can help, using hyperlinks to join them. the partial auto-arrange facility can be used to good effect, i.e.select a portion of your tree and auto-arrange that.
