I inserted a new Location as a subfield somewhere (I don't remember which tab it was, I think it was Family Properties > Marriage) and then clicked the cursor in another subfield box (i.e. entered the new location). I then realized that I had to make a correction to the location I had just inserted, did that, and afterwards I realized that both the first and the corrected location names were kept in the drop-down menu list.

Is it the case that once a new entry is created as Location, it cannot be deleted? That's what I realized, although I could be wrong.

I have the same problem with a couple of typo's in the surname field. Is there a fix for this?

If a place has been entered twice, which you can easily find in the table layout, you can delete this place under file>delete>places. It will ask you whether you want this place be replaced by another location which then would be naturally the place which was not selected to be deleted. I have done this several times and it just works fine.

A wrongly typed last name can be located by using the table layout and sorted according to the last name. There are several ways to edit this person. The best would be to select this person(double click) and correct the data entered.

That's the way I would handle it.

Thanks for the info, indeed it works.

It's nice to see that there is additional info for places, such as city, country, category, etc. In fact, I never noticed that. However, what's the use if that cannot be viewed in a family member's properties? :?

I've had the same problems with my Sources.

I tend to fat-finger a \ when I hit the enter key to select a source, and now I have Source and Source\ in my list.

I wasn't able to find a way to delete the erroneous source. Perhaps I overlooked something (like File | Delete) but I can't make sure right now since I don't have the software in front of me.

It works the same with sources (double entries or more).
Go to file menu > delete > sources and citations. You will find all your entries for this category. At the bottom of the dialog box you will find the delete buttom.
First highlight the entry you want to delete, then click the delete buttom. Replace by another source (most probably the correct one). You are done!
