Is it possible to search for an individual by ID number?
My family has lots of Williams and I want to be able to refer to specific family members when I'm emailing other people so that I can relate the replies to the correct family tree member

I'm not sure what you want to do.
You can find a person by his ID by using the indivdual - table layout (in the View menu). If you cant see the ID column use the "column properties" dialog box to add the colum to the current view.

The Find Dialog (Ctrl+F) can do this. There is a section "Search Where" where you can restrict your search to the IDs only.
