<LocativeProperNoun T="" />

	<ConvertDateSpan T="" />

	<!-- Conversion of masculine/feminine forms of names to a common 'root' name, usually the masculine form.

		e.g. for Russian

			<RootNameAffixes T="ova$=ov:cka$=cki:"/>

		 means replace ova at the end of a name with ov and replace cka with cki before sorting or grouping.
		 The names will still be displayed in their original form

	<!-- the 'to be' and 'to have' verbs in this Dictionary should be accessed via the 'StrVerb' Function defined in Lang.vbs
	     this will hopefully simplify future changes.

	     Note that can have alternative forms to take account of the subject's gender as well as the present & past tense forms.
	     These are specified by adding the suffix _M, _F or _P to the phrase name. _ToBe_Past_M below is an example.
	     If the gender specific variant is not found the the base phrase is used. So for example to get masculine & femine
	     forms just make the default phrase the masculine form and add a _F variant for the feminine form.

	     They are two variants of the 'to be' verb in Spanish. In other languages, including English, they are the same verb

	     This 'ToBe' is equivalent to the Spanish 'ser' often a passive, permanent or general state of being, e.g. His mother is Jane Doe

Introduction

These Web pages use SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format to display images of the family tree. You will need an SVG Viewer plug-in for browser in order to view them.

The Mozilla Firefox browser for Windows, Linux and Mac platforms has native support for SVG from version 1.5 Beta and above and can be used to view and manipulate these family tree images.

If you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer and the family tree graphic is not shown, please install Adobe SVG Viewer 3.0x in order to get the best presentation.

Mozilla Firefox browser can also recognise the Adobe SVG Viewer provided you copy the necessary NPSVG3.dll from the Adobe directory to the plugins-directory. (normally from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 3.0\Plugins to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins after you have downloaded and installed it. You will also need to access the Firefox configuration parameters (type about:config in the address line and press enter) and set svg.enabled to false to turn off the internal SVG Engine.

Zooming and Panning

			You can zoom in and out of the image using the and icons. Clicking the icon will return the image to its original size. You can see the whole of this image on a small scale by clicking the icon. The diagram can be panned/scrolled by clicking the green arrows around the border

Displaying information on Individuals & Families

			You can obtain more information about each individual by clicking the gender icon above their name (box for male, circle for female). Family details can be obtained by clicking the horizontal line joining the parents and children. In both instances the information is displayed in the frame above the genogram.

Moving for one family tree diagram (genogram) to another

			The genogram may be split between several different diagrams. The linking individual will appear on both diagrams and the name of that individual will be displayed in blue to indicate a 'hyperlink' between the two diagrams. Clicking on this hyperlink will cause the linked diagram to be displayed, centred on the linking individual.

Centering the family tree diagram on a particular individual or family

			Locate the required individual or family in the individual index or family index in the left hand frame.
			N.B. Click the or icon to display the appropriate index. Click the required individual or family to display their details in the upper right frame. Finally click the icon alongside their name to display the family tree diagram centered on that individual or family.

External Links

			Some individuals in the diagram may have links to external pages. These are indicated by the individual's name being displayed in violet. Clicking such a name will cause the link to open in a new browser window."

	Narrative Phrases, see Util.FormatPhrase() for details.

	Note that certain of the phrase such as PhBirth, PhDied, PhChildRank, PhOnlyChild etc. can have alternative forms to take account of the subject's gender
	These are specified by adding the suffix _M, _F or _P to the phrase name. PhBirth_F is an example. If the gender specific phrase is not found the the base phrase is used.
	So for example to get masculine & femine forms just make the default phrase the masculine form and add a _F variant for the feminine form.
	Note that in some cases the additional feminine form will not be required as the gender ID (M, F, P) is supplied as a parameter to the phrase.
