Report generator parameters from-end

Today if I would like to generate an English Narrative report with different parameters than the defaults in config.xml I have to create a copy of the skin, change the parameter(s) in config.xml and run the report using the new skin.

An idea: a new tab in the report generator form, containing switches to the parameters in config.xml.

For example, if I would like to generate the English Narrative report but hiding family detail I can check the Hide family details checkbox and this should act as if I change the fHideFamilyDetails in config.xml to "N"

It is also useful for testing all aspects of a newly developed skin (based on the standard English narrative report) or testing the translated reports.

Correction: from-end should be front-end Sad in the title of the topic.

I have requested this a couple of times in the past so hopefully it is already on Dan's 'to do' list. Smile

I could implement a pop-up IE form with the parameters but it would be better as part of Report Generator dialogue.

I would also like to see the Report folder path stored in the .gno so that when I switch between .gno files I don't have to remember to change the Report output folder. I have forgotten a number of times and ended up overwriting a report I did not intend to.

Yes, this feature has been scheduled for GenoPro 3.0.  A dialog called Report Parameters will be available, so the user won't have to tweak Config.xml.

I would also like to see the Report folder path stored in the .gno so that when I switch between .gno files I don't have to remember to change the Report output folder. I have forgotten a number of times and ended up overwriting a report I did not intend to.

I took a note of it.  I have to be careful of not storing the password for web publishing however, or using some one-way encryption such as MD5 or SHA-1.

Hi Ron,

Is there currently or will there be  a control to allow the Ancestor Pedigree Chart to be loaded as not expanded?
