Yes, please. I'd like to have that feature, too. Not that I know of any of my ascendants of that time, but I would like to use GenoPro to draw trees of Assyrian kings.

Recommendation for future use under this feature (when it becomes relevant): International years since 1AD has contained 12 (twelve) months. International years before 1AD had contained ONLY 10 (ten) months  , while theoretically speaking they should also be considered as 12 (twelve) months long.  Long live July and August !  :

To handle the varying number of months, I would simply disable month and day selection for BC years. Seems like the simplest solution to me.

After a quick Google search, it would seem that the twelve-month year was originally established by the Romans in 713 BC. It's just that January and February were at the end of the year. The number of days in each month fluctuated at various times from then until the establishment of the Julian calendar in 46 BC, and the calculation of leap years was changed slightly with the Gregorian calendar in 1582 AD. So as long as your family tree doesn't go back beyond the founding of Rome, the basic calendar is fine. Of course, finding specific dates for anything in the Western world predating the founding of Rome is a neat trick in itself, so we're probably good with allowing specific dates for all years... I would just suggest to all of Western civilization that we re-establish the beginning of the calendar ("year zero") at 713 BC, which would place the founding of the city of Rome at 40 BCE. Just another thought that will never have action taken on it. We as a species don't seem to like to combine thought with action any more. I guess it's just not "in"...

Apologies for bringing up an old thread.
Is there any work around for using ancient dates in GenoPro?I'd like to build a Phylogenetic Tree for my paternal line (Y-DNA). Here's an example data set for one line:  Could I enter a date up to 240,000 BCE or in some Years Before Present (ybp) format?
Or should I use some other application like yEd or Gephi and/or possibly MapBox for this exercise? Any other options you can suggest?

Terms like y SNP, Phylogenetic and Y-DNA go straight over my head but you can enter a string like 240,000 BCE into a GenoPro Date field. It will be treated as text, i.e. GenoPro will not do any calculations such as age on these text 'dates' but it is displayed on a GenoMap.
