How do I decrease the number of blue connector squares that keeps popping up whenever I tried to rearranged the tree manually?

Note: This is a great tools. I can't wait until you can make the auto arrange as easy as GreatFamilyViewer program. I think the key is to use "magnetic" lines, which will not disconnect or overlap when you do auto/manual arrange.

Thank you.

If you select one of the blue squares and drag it to the horizontal line it will disappear. Carry on until you only have one in the middle.

I prefer to drag the horizontal lines on top of each other, so you only have one of them - and no vertical one to worry about

Dragging a blue square to an adjacent blue square also reduces the number of blue squares by one.

This works with the polygon shape (New Closed Figure) as well to enable one to change its shape completely to some other shape (square, or  a shape to go around a group of individuals).
