I am new to GenoPro and wonder how I would keep record of the event of renaming. My parents moved with us from Czech Republic to Germany and the immigrant office offered us to germanize our surname (and my mother's birth name). So I think I should record this in GenoPro as a user-defined event related to the respective family members saying that their surname was changed from Zigmund to Siegmund and then an additional event for my mother, that her maiden name chanded officially from Stefanovičová to Stefanie.

How do I do this in GenoPro? I can imagine that in my concrete situation this is not really a big deal if there is no clean way to keep record of this, since I'll remember this as long as I live, and my descendants will use another genealogical software. But just suppose this would happen somewhere in the middle of my lineage and I would like to effectively tell GenoPro that this branch of the family tree changed the surname. (And keep track of when and where this happened, see the sources, scanned documents validating this event, and so on.)

Oh I read that GenoPro does not yet have the feature of Individual-related Events or events related to multiple individuals. That's a pity, but in my concrete case It does not matter so much. I am definitely looking forward to the event-supporting version of GenoPro.

In the meantime, you can use the field Second Last Name to show the family renaming.   Also, make sure you write a comment and/or add a source to document the event.  Ideally, GenoPro should support events the same as adding pictures or sources and citations.
