At the moment a child`s link goes to the marriage line, which means a child can only be adopted if there exists a family. However in some instance a child can also be adopted by a single person(not married). Will this be possible in the future?

I suppose the logic is that the family is the link between individuals. It does not have to start with husband and wife; same sex mates are possible.

In adoption by a single parent the possibility exists for further children - making a family of more than two. So the family line is the place to create families. You may have to remove one parent from the genogram

You can remove the second parent and shorten the marriage line to a single pixel which gives the required result:

A subsequent marriage can be added in the usual way.
