Bonjour,
I'm an occasional user of GenoPro since 2003! Very occasional with quite basic needs. For instance, I do not want to represent emotional, social or medical genograms hence I do not need the corresponding features. Have you ever considered a finer-grain licensing scheme, starting with a version with only the family genograms at, say, 30 USD? That would maybe attract a lot a new users, don't you think so? The version with the more sophisticated genograms could then be sold at a higher price, say 60 USD.
Patrick, from Belgium.

We had similar recommendations, such as creating a product only for health professionals or social workers, thus raising the price. Likewise, having a "student version" of GenoPro with reduced functionality.
When there are many products, people are confused which one to buy. Besides, we need to create different builds and download links and keep every version up-to-date. Also, the user-interface (such as menus, toolbars and dialogs) must be updated. Nobody wants to see several disabled options and not understanding why those options are disabled because he/she purchased the light version. Also, we like to present our best features in our product. This is the reason why we gave everyone a free upgrade of GenoPro 2011. Some of our customers who purchased GenoPro at $10 (about 10 years ago) got their free upgrade. We cannot promise free upgrades forever, however when people buy our product, we want to make sure they get free upgrades for a few years.
