Hello!

I'd like to export my family tree to metafile, but after I've selected the folder, where the file will be created, the program almost freezes, the computer's HDD works for a while, but after it notihng happens, the program works again, HDD stopped writing, but the file was not created in the folder. (Windows 7, GenoPro 2011)

The family tree has 2037 persons, 185 pictures, 1318 text labels, and fits on a 140 × 1750 cm size paper
Is that too big to .emf files?

If I crop only a small part of my family tree, approx. 10 individuals and 2-3 small pictures into a new genomap, the metafile can be created without any problems.

Could you help me please?

GenoPro uses the built-in function of Windows to create the metafile.  Does your family tree has pictures?  If you have a lot of pictures, you may consider making them smaller, because those pictures are exported as bitmaps in the metafile, and there could be a possibility Windows runs out of memory when creating a large metafile.

Maybe is an error in the paper size: 140 X 1750 cm (1.40 x 17.50 meters!).
It seems improbable and excessive!

Try writing a pdf. There are many messages on this forum about this - search for pdf. This will show if it is possible to get a large image. The pdf printer drivers allow choice of page size
