Organizing tree

I would like some advice as to how I should organize my family tree. I have tried using the AutoArrange option, but it does not really arrange the tree well. I have tried using the hyperlinks. But I am not sure which persons should be hyperlinked. I have attached two files, the first of which is what I had before the hyperlinks (as you can see, there are people on top of one another) and the second, which is with hyperlinks. Could you suggest at which people it is best to hyperlink at; or if I shouldn't hyperlink at all, and it would be better to somehow move everybody around to fit them well.

Thank you,

Luciano

Usually you hyperlink the families of the in-laws, so you keep the core of your family on the same GenoMap.

For instance, you may right-click on Joanna Violante (Hamlin), pick the menu item Select Ancestor Tree and then right-click again to pick the menu item Move to GenoMap <New GenoMap> and you will move all her ancestor tree to a new GenoMap.  GenoPro will automatically be renamed Santucci because this is the most popular family name.

Hello, Luciano!

I wanted to contact you about one of the entries in the (quite marvelous) tree you've put together.

There are additional details I can offer about the family (of my great grandmother),  Marjorie Kathryn (Hurst) Hamlin [1887-1972], first wife of James Ladue Hamlin [1885-1956].

Maurice Eugene Hamlin, their son, was not an only child, but, in fact was one of 5 children.
Maurice Eugene, who went by "Gene" had 4 sisters: Lois Marie ("Marie"), Carol, Ruby and Alma.

(Marie married Orville Clark and together they had 4 children: Barbara, James, Anita, and Patricia. ...And so on.)

Anyhow, I guess your roots and mine divide after Eliakim Smith Hamlin & Julia Ann Barton--with the brothers:
Eli Smith Hamlin (your great great grandfather) -and- Edward Creighton Hamlin (my great great grandfather).

...So, it seems you and I would be fourth cousins.  Small world, no?

Smile

Take care!
