Hi,
I've just tried your downloadable demo version for PC. It works great! However, I'm a bit confused over the different versions that are out there or coming in this transition period. It appears that there is a Genopro 2016. Is this the same version as the demo? Also, I see there is GenoproX version coming soon that will be operational on Macs. If one were to get a license for Genopro/ Genopro 2016 for a PC, how would this work for licensing if I need GenoproX for a Mac? Would I need to purchase from scratch? I know it is early yet, but getting excited for the new Mac interface, when will GenoproX be approximately rolled out for demo or use? Thanks again,

The free download is a full evaluation copy of the product. When you enter an evaluation key, you have all the features as the purchased product, with the exception of a reminder you are evaluating the product and the key will expires. When you purchase GenoPro and enter a permanent registration key, you never see the reminder again, unless you install on a different computer, which in that case you are welcome to re-use the same registration key.
GenoProX will be available on multiple platforms, and the same registration key for GenoProX will work for multiple platforms. For sure, if you purchase GenoProX, the same registration key will work on your Mac as well as your PC or Linux box. If you purchase GenoPro 2016, the entire $49 will be credited towards GenoProX. Since GenoProX Family will likely sell at $29, you will have extra credits to get tokens for collaboration and/or VIP support. I thought we would have a demo last month and still working on it. One of our developer has been adding audio with the Opus codec and video with H.264 and we are integrating it. There have also been time allocated for code refactoring, which is delaying a bit the demo.

I'm interested in beta testing as well... when you think the program is ready to do that. No rush.

Everyone will be welcome to Beta test GenoProX when it will be available

I'm happy to hear that. Open beta tests are the best, because developers get the largest possible sample set in terms of system configurations to track down possible issues. Many thanks for the response!

Great to hear the update. Perhaps you can set up a twitter page to provide regular updates. As a financial backer of GenoProX, I'd appreciate that.

Update? News? Anything?
I was hoping to use GenoProX for my new book - being published by Self-Counsel Press in the Fall. Alas, I'm going to have go with GenogramAnalytics... sucks for me (the software is unwieldy and diagrams unattractive) and you (credit goes to GA). |

The audio integration is almost complete, and the video H.264 encoding is working as a prototype.

I'm using GenoPro 2016 (3.0.0.7) with license key. I'm trying to purchase GenoProX, but after entering my licence key I get the message "You cannot upgrade from this version of GenoPro".
According to the forum I'm using version 2.0.1.0 ??? On October 27th, 2015 I've bought the Supporter package, with 6 months of GenoProX membership (which would be expired by now). Do I first have to spend the $15 again to become a Supporter before I can purchase a Bronze GenoProX Family?

If you are already have GenoPro 2016, then you also have the package Bronze GenoProX Family. The version number displayed on the forum is our 'best estimate' of what version of GenoPro you are using. When you do a Check for Update, we the server attempts to match your registration key to your GenoPro account and update the version of GenoPro you are using. In the past we used this version number a lot while providing support because many people would ask a question or have a problem while using a version of GenoPro which was completely out of date. For us, what is important, is if the version number displays 3.0.0.7 then we know for sure the user has the latest version of GenoPro. Many users like you may have multiple computers and the version number on the forum does not accurately represent which version of GenoPro you are using at home.

Thanks for you reply. When I do a Check for Update I can see that I use the most recent version (3.0.0.7). I do use GenooPro on multiple computers, so I'll check to see that the all are on the same version.
However, if I'm informed correctly and you are right about having the package Bronze GenoProX Family when using GenoPro 2016, I understand that I then should also have access to the mobile version of GenoPro. Can you instruct me on how to find the mobile version of GenoPro?

There is no mobile version of GenoPro 2016. This is why we are building GenoProX from scratch, to work on all platforms. GenoPro 2016 is built using the MFC framework which is only for Windows and over 20 years old, while GenoProX is being built using the Qt framework which is portable on all platforms, including tablets and smartphones. Besides, building a software which works on a desktop/notebook and a smartphone is a bit a challenge because of the wide variety of screen sizes, pixel density and so on. The code must be written in a way where everything is stretchable and rotatable to fit the screen

I just bumped into your GenoproX project. I love it. I've been looking for a way to share and collaborate on our genealogy for years. So far, I am stuck with GenoPro 2007 and have to borrow a Windows computer for occasional updates.
I will go ahead and sponsor your project at the Gold level. But please keep us updated on your progress and release timeline. May the force be with you -Vahe

The Pre-Purchase GenoProX page seems broken: https://www.genopro.com/buy/?version=crowdfunding
I know my login is valid and I further know that the registration key I entered is valid (it was just confirmed by an auto-reply e-mail from you).
I can't click the Paypal or Visa button to pay for my purchase. I tried with both Chrome and Firefox.
Please help. Thanks -Vahe

Hi Vahe, I tried your registration key (ending with 14131) with the Registration Wizard and got the $15 discount: I also tried the link you suggested and when I entered your key, the same discount appeared? Maybe I missed something. If you try upgrading with the Registration Wizard, do you get the discount?
